Privacy policy

The short version

StockQuotient is an independent project run by a solo developer. It collects only what it needs to run the site and your account. It does not sell your data, show ads or use advertising trackers.

What we collect

• If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address, name and profile picture link, plus when you created your account and last signed in. We never see your Google password.
• If you sign in with email: your email address, when you created your account and last signed in, and, for each sign-in link we send, when it was requested, from which IP address, and whether it was used (kept 7 days, to prevent abuse). There are no passwords.
• Cookies: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in (up to 30 days), and short-lived cookies used only during the Google sign-in step (10 minutes). These are strictly necessary; we use no advertising or tracking cookies.
• Feedback: what you write on the Feedback page, when you sent it, and, if you are signed in, which account sent it. We use it only to improve the site.
• Your watchlist: when you are signed in, the companies you save (and each one’s score on the day you saved it) are stored with your account so they appear on every device. If you are not signed in, the watchlist stays in your own browser.
• Technical data: our hosting and security providers process IP addresses and request details to deliver the site, protect it from abuse and produce aggregate, cookie-free visit statistics.

How we use it

To sign you in, run your account, keep the site secure, understand overall usage, and contact you about your account if needed. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it.

Who processes it

Google (sign-in), Resend (sign-in emails), Heroku (hosting), Supabase (database, United States) and Cloudflare (network, security and analytics). They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Retention and your choices

We keep account data while your account exists. You can sign out at any time, remove StockQuotient’s access in your Google account settings, and ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to [email protected]. We delete accounts on request.

Children

The site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
